L2 Teachers’ Pedagogical Thoughts: Variations Across Teachers With Varying Levels of Grit

Teacher pedagogical knowledge base (PKB) has secured a notable position in research on teacher cognition. One obvious gap this strand of concerns variations teachers’ thought processes relation to individual difference variables despite indications that PKB is likely differ across differences. To fill part the void, study investigated how PKB—conceptualized as frequency and dominance units/categories—vary function levels grit. end, eight EFL teachers (four High-Grit four Low-Grit) were chosen participate study. Stimulated recall interviews used explore units underlie instruction. The two groups then identified by segmenting, coding categorizing them. results showed there significant differences between number list dominant categories. Language Management, Procedure Check, Affective, Self-Reflection, Progress Review, Beliefs, Problem Check constituted PTCs teachers, whereas Low-Grit categories included Time Check. advance scholarship extending findings
